Workshop Objectives:

  1. Discuss the disclosure process for children in child sexual abuse cases.
  2. Define delayed-out cry and what it means psychologically for the child.
  3. Assess a case example of how the legal system addresses the challenges inherent in the disclosure process of child sexual abuse cases in criminal court and the role of mental health services.
  4. Explain various ways of how to address the challenges for successful outcomes in mental health services and legal proceedings.

 

Who Should Attend:  This workshop is designed for professionals who work with children and/or families in the field of child abuse.  This includes professionals in child advocacy, children’s protective services, social work, counseling, mental health, education, medicine, law enforcement, legal professionals, and more.
